Dr Diane Boyd’s PHD centred on early childhood education for sustainability with a particular focus on the environment. Diane’s research considered different place-based opportunities that young children can utilise includes the beach, farm, allotment, museum, zoo, the community and the bush. A recent project with an intergenerational element encouraged elders from the local community to come into the children and family centre to teach skills that are being lost- such as knitting, sewing a button on and mending things. Diane’s latest project is an new resource for early childhood which highlights provocations about the Sustainable Development Goals. This will be launched in early December. Please look out for it!!
